Summer 2026 at Thrive in Empowerment: Creativity, Community & What's Next

It has been a busy, rewarding and truly memorable summer for Thrive in Empowerment CIC. From completing programmes and delivering pop-ups to strengthening partnerships and showing up for our wider community, here is a look back at everything we achieved together — and a glimpse of what is coming next.

🎨 Bloom & Create: A Summer of Creativity

Over the summer, we completed our Bloom & Create creative wellbeing programme at Latymer All Saints CE Primary School — and what a journey it was. The programme culminated in a wonderful celebration of the children's creativity, their growth in confidence and the real, lasting impact the sessions had on their wellbeing.

We also delivered a series of summer community pop-ups, bringing creative wellbeing activities directly into local spaces and continuing to strengthen our relationships with residents and families across Edmonton and Enfield.

🌿 Growing Our Environmental & Sustainability Work

Our environmental and sustainability work has continued to grow throughout the summer, with new projects and opportunities focused on greener spaces, tree planting, practical environmental education and helping communities engage more positively with the places around them.

This is an area we are incredibly passionate about, and we are excited to share more developments in the months ahead.

🚒 Lending a Hand at Enfield's Emergency Services Day

We were proud to be part of Enfield's Emergency Services Day this summer — a fantastic community event that brought together local residents, families and emergency services in the heart of Enfield town.

The day was full of energy, with fire engines, police vehicles and St John Ambulance on hand to engage and educate the public. We were there to represent Thrive in Empowerment CIC, connect with local families and share information about our work — including our Enfield Energy Champions programme.

It was a brilliant opportunity to be visible in the community, meet new faces and remind people that we are here, active and growing. Moments like these are exactly why we do what we do.

🤝 Expanding Our Volunteer Offer

Alongside programme delivery, our volunteer offer has been growing — creating new and meaningful ways for local people to get involved across community activities, youth engagement, events, communications and project support.

If you have been thinking about volunteering with us, now is a great time to get in touch. Visit our Volunteers page to see the roles available and apply directly.

🌱 Still Raising Funds on Spacehive — Please Support Us!

Our Spacehive crowdfunding campaign — Thrive Together: Creativity, Community & Care — is still live and we need your support!

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us expand Bloom & Create and bring more creative wellbeing opportunities to children, families and communities across Enfield. We are also working hard to unlock match funding, which means your contribution could go even further.

If you have not yet donated or shared the campaign, please do — it truly makes a difference. Every share reaches new people who might want to be part of what we are building.

🏗️ Building Strong Foundations

The summer has also been an important period for strengthening Thrive in Empowerment behind the scenes. We have continued developing new partnerships, exploring funding opportunities and building the organisational foundations needed to support our work sustainably into 2027.

While much of this work happens quietly in the background, it is essential to ensuring we can keep delivering high-quality, impactful programmes for the people and communities we serve.

🍂 Looking Ahead to Autumn

As we move into autumn, our focus remains on creating welcoming, practical and meaningful opportunities that support wellbeing, creativity, connection and stronger communities across North London.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported, partnered with and participated in our work over the summer. Whether you attended a session, volunteered, donated or simply cheered us on — thank you. It means everything.

There is much more to come. 💚

Bloom & Create Wellbeing Sessions — Latymer All Saints Primary School

Something truly special is happening every week at Latymer All Saints Primary School in North London — and we couldn't be more proud to be part of it.

Our Bloom & Create After School Wellbeing Sessions are now in full swing, with children taking part in weekly sessions that explore emotional wellbeing through the power of creativity. Each week brings a new theme, a new medium and a new opportunity for children to look inward, express themselves and grow.

In our first sessions, children explored identity and self-expression — painting self-portraits on canvas, drawing how they see themselves and writing about the things that make them happy. The results were stunning. From bold, colourful canvases labelled with words like 'happy', 'anxious', 'silly' and 'brave', to heartfelt written reflections about favourite songs and the people they love — every piece told a deeply personal story.

As the weeks have progressed, the children have continued to flourish. They are learning to name and understand their emotions, building confidence in sharing their thoughts, and discovering that creativity is a powerful tool for self-understanding and connection.

Through drawing, painting, spoken word and music, Bloom & Create gives children a safe, supportive space to be themselves — fully and freely. Week by week, session by session, we are watching their confidence grow, and it is an absolute privilege to witness.

Watch this space — we'll be sharing updates, themes and highlights from each session right here as the programme continues.

Bloom & Create After School Wellbeing Sessions

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Bloom & Create After School Wellbeing Sessions — a structured weekly programme now running at Latymer All Saints Primary School in North London.

Designed for children and young people, each session uses creativity as a tool for building emotional wellbeing, confidence and self-expression. Through drawing, painting, spoken word and music, children are given a safe, nurturing space to explore how they feel, who they are and who they want to become.

Every week focuses on a different aspect of wellbeing — from understanding emotions and building resilience, to celebrating identity and fostering a sense of belonging. No two sessions are the same, and that's exactly the point.

This programme would not have been possible without the incredible support of our partners. We are deeply grateful to Edmonton Community Partnership and Enfield Council for their backing and belief in what we are building. Their commitment to community-led wellbeing initiatives has been instrumental in bringing Bloom & Create to life.

This programme is a core part of our mission at Thrive in Empowerment CIC — making creative wellbeing support accessible to children in our community. We are incredibly excited to watch it grow, and we look forward to sharing updates from every session as the weeks unfold.

Bloom & Create Hub — Mother's Day Pop-Up

For our first ever Bloom & Create Hub pop-up, we wanted to do something truly special — and what better occasion than Mother's Day?

In March 2026, children gathered at Angel Yard for an afternoon of creativity, colour and love. Armed with craft supplies, glitter, tissue paper and clay, they got to work creating heartfelt gifts for the most important women in their lives — their mums, aunts, grandmas and the ones they hold dear.

The room buzzed with concentration and excitement as little hands carefully crafted handmade cards bursting with flowers, sequins and personal messages. Some children went above and beyond, sculpting their very own clay crocodiles — a wonderfully imaginative touch that had everyone smiling.

Every creation was unique, every gift made with pure love. It was a reminder of just how powerful creativity can be — not only as a form of self-expression, but as a way to connect, celebrate and show the people we love how much they mean to us.

This pop-up set the perfect tone for Bloom & Create Hub: a warm, welcoming space where children can explore their creativity freely and make memories that last.

Bloom & Create Hub — Westbourne Hall, Edmonton

Our second Bloom & Create Hub pop-up brought the magic to Westbourne Hall Community Centre in Edmonton — and what a session it was.

Children and parents arrived full of energy and excitement, ready to dive into an afternoon of hands-on creativity. The tables were piled high with craft supplies — stickers, sequins, pom-poms, glitter, coloured paper, beads and more — and the children wasted no time getting stuck in.

From intricate jewellery and sparkling collages to beautifully decorated figures and colouring pages, every child threw themselves into the activities with enthusiasm and imagination. Parents joined in too, creating a wonderful atmosphere of shared creativity and laughter that filled the hall.

What made this session so special was the full participation from everyone in the room. Families worked side by side, children encouraged each other, and the sense of community was palpable from the very first moment. It was exactly the kind of warm, inclusive space we set out to create with Bloom & Create Hub.

Westbourne Hall proved to be the perfect setting — a welcoming community space right in the heart of Edmonton, bringing local families together through the joy of making.

Every Saturday at the Grassroots Community Pantry, Enfield

Every Saturday, you'll find us at the Grassroots Community Pantry in Enfield — and it's become one of the most meaningful parts of what we do.

This isn't just a weekly visit. We are genuinely woven into the everyday lives of the residents who come through those doors. Week after week, we show up, we connect, we listen and we support — building real, lasting relationships with the people and families at the heart of our community.

The Grassroots Community Pantry is a vital resource for local residents, providing affordable, accessible food in a warm and welcoming environment. But beyond the practical support, it is a place where people feel seen and valued — and that is exactly the spirit we bring with us every time we walk through the door.

Our involvement goes beyond simply being present. We engage with residents, signpost people to our programmes and wider support services, and work hand in hand with the pantry team to ensure that everyone who comes in leaves feeling a little more supported, a little more connected and a little more empowered.

For us, this is what community looks like in action — consistent, compassionate and committed. Every Saturday, without fail.

Vision Board Pop-In — Our Very First Community Event

Every great journey starts somewhere — and ours started with a vision board.

In January 2026, we hosted our very first pop-up community event: the Vision Board Pop-In at Angel Yard in North London. What began as a simple idea quickly became something truly special. People from the local community came together, rolled up their sleeves, and got to work — cutting, sticking, dreaming and creating.

The energy in the room was electric. Attendees brought their ambitions to life on paper, crafting vision boards that reflected their goals, values and aspirations. From career milestones to personal growth, travel dreams to family hopes — every board told a unique and powerful story.

What struck us most was the sense of community that filled the space. Strangers became collaborators, conversations flowed freely, and a shared spirit of possibility brought everyone together. It was a room full of go-getters, achievers and dreamers — exactly the kind of community we set out to build.

This event set the tone for everything Thrive in Empowerment CIC stands for: creating accessible, uplifting spaces where people feel seen, supported and inspired to thrive.
